It’s vital to systematise and measure the results of citizen participation to calculate the scope of the participatory processes, monitor them and optimise their effectiveness in later phases of the project. It’s also important to be accountable to external auditors and sustainability certifications such as LEED and BREEAM that include the social aspect in their standards, and for which Madrid Nuevo Norte is already pre-certified.
These maps and metrics form part of this quantitative and qualitative analysis, and include a snapshot of the activities carried out, as well as the social agents that were involved and took part in the process.
