Target description

The indicators that assess the impact of these actions by Madrid Nuevo Norte were prepared based on the 169 targets associated with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the targets taken on by the Madrid City Council and localised for the city.

Madrid Nuevo Norte project actions

The project is expected to create 348,064 jobs in Spain linked to the project, of which 296,122 will be in the Region of Madrid. Madrid Nuevo Norte will have an impact of EUR 15.2 B on national GDP, and EUR 12 B of this will have an impact on the GDP of the Region of Madrid.

What is the impact?

Madrid Nuevo Norte will generate EUR 15.2 B of the national GDP, contributing EUR 12 B to the GDP of the Region of Madrid and exporting part of that wealth (EUR 3.2 B) to other regions. It will also generate 296,122 jobs in the Region of Madrid alone, of which 149,622 will be in the construction phase and 146,500 in the activity phase. The project and the total economic impact of Madrid Nuevo Norte will not only generate wealth at the national and regional levels, but will also create jobs for different educational and in different sectors. The project's impact on the productivity ratio will undoubtedly be positive during both the construction process and in the activity phase.
