2.2. End all forms of malnutrition

Target description

The indicators that assess the impact of these actions by Madrid Nuevo Norte were prepared based on the 169 targets associated with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the targets taken on by the Madrid City Council and localised for the city.

  • Sustainable Development GOALS

2.2 By 2030, end all forms of malnutrition, including achieving, by 2025, the internationally agreed targets on stunting and wasting in children under 5 years of age, and address the nutritional needs of adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women and older persons.

  • Madrid SDG

M 2.2 By 2030, reduce the percentage of the population that is overweight or obese.

Madrid Nuevo Norte project actions

The project includes the construction of 12 plots with sports (6) or fitness facilities and outdoor games (6), distributed so that 100% of the residential plots are less than 400 metres from one of these areas.

What is the impact?

The distribution of sports facilities in the area of influence of Madrid Nuevo Norte makes them highly accessible to the population. This is in line with Madrid's strategic objective of reducing obesity and maintains the positive impact on indicators related to target 2.2.

Operational indicator

Proximity to sports facilities and areas: people who live less than a 5-minute walk from sports areas.
