The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a call from the United Nations to all countries of the world to face the great challenges facing humanity. The aim of these goals is to ensure that all people have equal opportunities and can lead better lives, without compromising the future of our planet.

Madrid Nuevo Norte is a project that will cause great changes in the lives of citizens at the local and regional levels. For this reason, its impact has been analysed and measured, taking into account its contribution to the SDG strategy. To do this, a methodology developed by the United Nations to offer a universal framework to track performance of urban SDGs and the New Urban Agenda was applied.

Methodology

Madrid Nuevo Norte aligned itself with the SDGs from the very beginning. For this reason, in its commitment to demonstrate its desire to contribute to the 2030 Agenda, Madrid Nuevo Norte has decided to measure its impact using a methodology developed by UN-Habitat and in line with the City Council of Madrid that provides the measurement with the necessary scientific rigour. Conclusions

Madrid Nuevo Norte has a direct positive impact on the 17 SDGs, with the largest impact on Goals 3, 8 and 11. It also contributes significantly to Goals 6, 12 and 13.
